The Band and Their View on the New
Generation
The band is a group of new generation kids like
ourselves. Their lyrics reflect how they feel in society today. One of
their more popular songs "Flood" containes lyrics about a young man drowning
in a flood, it says,"My world is a flood, slowly I become one with the mud."
I feel that Jars of Clay is saying something like they feel like their sinking
deep into society and slowly they are drowning. They way they deal with
this feeling is to turn to God. Jars of Clay seems to be telling the
new generations that, yes life can be flooding but there is an esacpe through
religion. If you can find something to belive in it can as they say,"lift me up,
when I'm falling."
